Merlin is named after the magician wizard named Merlin from traditional Authrian times (as in, the times of King Arthur). Even his friendship to one of his Fearless Seven members Arthur and even his lightning powers or cards of magic reflect his namesake.
Arthur is obviously named after King Arthur, and in mythology or in fairy tales, there was a wizard of lightning named Merlin, who was the mentor of the fairy tale figure King Arthur. Even though Arthur cannot remove the Sword of Exaclibar, or rather, the Exaclibar, his sword skills and his friendship with Merlin seems to emphasis on the fact of his namesake is who he is named for even more. (Even though Arthur seems more to be Merlin's mentor instead because of Merlin's shallow obsession with appearance and the fact that Arthur seems to help him more often than Merlin helps Arthur. [Despite the delusional thing of where he thinks that Snow White's, or as he believed, Red Shoes's slap was an "expression of affection"]).
Hans is named after Hans Christian Andersen. (Hence how the nationality of Danish has a pastry named after it since Hans Christian Andersen is from Denmark, since Hans Christian Andersen is Danish, and Hans from "Red Shoes and the Seven Dwarfs" is a pastry chef).
Jack is named after Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk (easy to tell even more because the dwarfs are all green and a beanstalk obviously is green). (Also his power of invisibility seems to reflect this namesake even more because in the story of Jack and the Beanstalk, Jack even to be silent and unseen from the giant. As in the story, the Giant was _not_ supposed to _see_ Jack).
And Pino, Noki, and Kio are named after Pinocchio from The Adventures of Pinocchio, and their need to build and invent is _obviously_ based on how the puppet Pinocchio was something built or invented, since he was not "real". Since he was not a "real boy". --72.68.3.82 (talk) 16:28, 7 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
